Every year, the blockchain cracks flock to Zug for the biggest blockchain event in Switzerland, the CV Summit. And also this year we found the “who is who” of the Swiss crypto industry at the event. The CV Summit 2023, the 9th edition in total, was a complete success, despite the approaching crypto winter. What were the highlights of this year’s CV Summit? What was the spirit like? And how do attendees see the future of Web3? Let’s take a look.
What does the future of the Web3 industry look like?
I had the pleasure to talk to some attendees, experts and speakers at the Summit in Zug about the future of the Blockchain industry. The general mood is optimistic.
The fact that Bitcoin and Ethereum have had a horizontal price trend for a very long time is felt by the entire industry, but everyone sees a very strong future for Web3. Some sooner, some later. Many are on the sidelines waiting for positive signals, but to start only then, that’s too late. You can see this in the positive news you hear from well-known brands like Nike and Gucci, as well as UBS with their push for tokenization. The spirit is fantastically good and everyone sees a great development of the whole Web3 ecosystem!
And here are some of my highlights from CV Summit 2023!
Fireblocks introduces new solution of MPC-CMP wallets
We all know custodial wallets and non-custodial wallets, Lennart Nieratschker from Fireblocks introduced their new solution of MPC-CMP Wallets, this solution is for institutions.

The Migration of Digital Assets
A panel was dedicated to the migration of digital assets, moderated by Romina Bungert. Panelists Svetlana Sailer – Kraken, Patrik Kohli – Alloy and Tim Bruenjes – Fireblocks, gave an insight into what their companies are currently doing: investing in infrastructure.
For Patrick Kohli, stable coins are a great opportunity for tokenization.

How to be successful in Web3? – Devon Krantz
For Devon Krantz, to be successful with Web3, it’s not enough to just focus on DeFi, the particular solution has to offer an advantage to customers, otherwise it can’t compete against TradFi.

Web3 Career Day – What is the current job market like?
Eric Anderegg from Blockstar and Jonas Wechsler from cryptovalley.jobs showed on stage how the current situation on the job market is, compared to past values and an outlook into the future. Currently, the demand for developers is there, especially for zero-knowledge.
For business roles, the demand for experienced Ecosystem Developer and Product Marketer is very high to prepare for the upcoming bull run. A report on the current situation and market outlook will be published these days on Blockchainjobs Europe.

Certifications for Blockchain
Certifications are an important tool to prove capabilities and increase quality or efficiency. One institute that offers certifications for Blockchain and assets is the Swiss DEC of Arno Pernthaler.
Arno Pernthaler gave us an insight into the world of Blockchain certification.

How to design a startup pitch deck correctly?
Bastian Wetzel from CV VC showed in his presentation, together with Duke Vu from fungies.io, how a startup can properly design their pitch deck for VC’s. They explained how to follow a standard and still stand out. As always: KISS – Keep It Short and Simple!

The CV Summit 2023 was a great event where you can make direct contact with the decision makers of many well-known blockchain companies. For me, it was an opportunity to exchange ideas on current topics with many people from my network and to meet new interesting people.
Many thanks also to Dr. Philipp Rösler for the new name of Switzerland: Blockchain Valley.
I am already looking forward to the CV Summit 2024!
