What’s Different Than Last Year’s Gam3awards?
This year, the Gam3awards is making a few additions. While 13 categories from the inaugural awards are making a comeback, three exciting new categories have been added to the mix: Racing/Sports, Fighting, and On-chain games. The addition of the On-chain games category aims to celebrate developers who harness the full potential of blockchain and decentralization to elevate the gaming experience.
Eligibility and Selection Process
For games to be eligible for the Gam3awards this year, they must have a public playable demo or have provided private access to the game for any core GAM3S.GG team member before November 19, 2023. Games submitted after this cutoff date will not be considered for this year’s awards.
The selection process is rigorous. With remarkable progress in the Web3 gaming space since the last awards, over 500 Web3 games have been collectively evaluated by the GAM3S.GG team. They’ve shortlisted the top 20 games in each applicable category, which are then presented to the 50-member jury for their top 5 selections. If a game garners overwhelming community support during the nomination stage, it may be considered to replace one of the nominees in the final list. Notably, three categories — The People’s Choice, Content Creator, and Games’ Choice — are exclusively nominated and voted on by the community.
The second round of voting introduces community input alongside the jury’s decision to determine the ultimate winner in each category. The jury holds 90% of the voting power, while the community has 10%, allowing for a fair and inclusive selection process.
