The Hyundai NFT community will promote the Hyundai brand experience in the Metaverse by sharing NFTs depicting its mobility solutions.
The Hyundai Motor Corporation, in collaboration with the non-fungible token (NFT) brand Meta Kongz, announced its entry into the online community-based Non-Fungible Token market as part of efforts to enhance its brand experience and customer community. The initiative makes Hyundai the first car manufacturer to join the NFT bandwagon.
According to a press release by the Seoul-based automaker, the firm will issue 30 limited editions of “Hyundai x Meta Kongz” NFTs on April 20 to commemorate the release of its short film that introduced the Hyundai NFT universe concept “Metamobility universe,” it added.
Mobility solutions can transcend time and space
The film will feature Meta Kongz, a popular NFT gorilla character, which visualizes how mobility solutions can transcend time and space. Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s global chief marketing officer and head of the customer experience division, said:
“We are extremely excited to introduce ‘Metamobility’ through our own NFTs and start this journey with ‘Meta Kongz.’”
While other car manufacturers like Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, and McLaren have issued NFTs already, those firms’ NFTs are basically exotic, and luxury cars are created virtually and sold in limited numbers for collectors. Hyundai, however, becomes the first carmaker to develop community-based NFTs that allow owners to become part of the metaverse community Hyundai has created. Thomas Schemera added:
“The Hyundai NFT universe will extend the Hyundai brand experience, especially with the MZ generation (Millennials and Generation Z), in a completely new way, further reinforcing our commitment to innovation in the real world and the metaverse.”
Hyundai Brand experience in the Metaverse by sharing NFTs
NFTs are unique cryptographic tokens that exist on a blockchain and cannot be replicated. They represent real-world items like artwork and real estate. Tokenizing these ‘real-world’ tangible assets makes the buying, selling, and trading of such items more efficient while reducing the probability of fraud.
The Hyundai NFT community hopes to provide hopes to offer its members the Hyundai Brand experience in the Metaverse by sharing NFTs. The community’s Discord and Twitter Channels opened on April 15, 2022, while the official NFT website is scheduled to open in May.
Hyundai NFT projects will be continued throughout the year to keep expanding the Hyundai NFT Universe. Profits from the sale of Hyundai NFTs will be used for the project’s management and community members.
