April 8, 2022 – Zurich, Switzerland
Ice cross rider Paul Aegerter alias iceXpaul is launching the first sports NFT series in that sport under his own brand. The NFT series consists of 3 NFTs featuring Paul in his extreme sport.
Being born in Switzerland but having a double nationality from his mother, he decided to compete in Sport for South Africa. Paul Aegerter is one of the few athletes from the African continent participating in a winter sport.
“In 2019, I had a fantastic dream, that’s why I decided to start my career in Ice Cross Downhill. The dream is about involving myself in that extreme sport, motivating the next generation to participate in the sport, forming a team for South Africa and one day taking that team to the Olympics!”
But iceXpaul – that is how they call him on the tour did not just participate. He moved forward in the ranking shortly after entering the sport. In his first year he ended the season #95 in the world ranking (from 400 active athletes).
As a digital marketer, Paul Aegerter knows how important it is to be first mover and on the forefront of technology. And this is why he launched this NFT series.
An animated NFT collection
The series consists of three NFTs that show animated scenes of Paul in action and his sport. Card #1 shows Paul in action. Card #2 shows the iceXpaul brand and card #3 is an autoportrait. All three NFTs are 3D animated sports cards with music. His collection is a limited edition.

The 1st and 2nd NFT of Pauls collection are available for free by joining Paul’s Telegram channel. In order to complete the collection one can purchase the 3rd NFT on OpenSea, which will trigger a surprise reward for owners of the full collection on 30.06.2022.
The importance of being at the forefront of technology
With the launch of his NFTs, iceXpaul is at the forefront of technology and hype. He is closing the circle between sports, sponsorships and technology and is developing new offering solutions for athletes and brands to create additional value based around NFTs.
„Since I dropped my NFT collection a few weeks ago, I got so many positive feedbacks and I keep receiving inquiries from athletes and brands asking me to create them a NFT concept and help them implementing it. It is amazing!“
Some new iceXpaul NFTs are planned for the new ice cross season.
